Privacy policy

MakeWash ("we", "our") provides software and content for pressure washing operators at makewash.com. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your information.

What we collect

Calculator inputs. When you use the pressure washing estimate calculator, the surface, square footage, intensity, and ZIP code you enter are used to generate your estimate. ZIP codes are used only to apply regional cost-of-living multipliers and are not associated with any identifying information.

Newsletter signups. If you submit your email address via a newsletter signup form, we store it for the purpose of sending MakeWash content. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.

Usage analytics. We use PostHog (product analytics), Vercel Analytics (web vitals), and Ahrefs Web Analytics (referrer-and-traffic insights) to understand how the site is used. These tools collect IP address, user-agent, page paths, and referrer URLs. We do not sell or share this data with third parties beyond the analytics vendors above.

Cookies. Strictly-necessary cookies for site functionality, plus first-party analytics cookies as described above. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

How we use your information

• To generate cost estimates from the calculator inputs you provide.
• To deliver content you've explicitly subscribed to receive.
• To improve the site by understanding which pages and tools are most useful (aggregate analytics, not per-user tracking).
• To respond to your inquiries when you contact us at hello@makewash.com.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

Data retention

Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and not retained on our servers. Newsletter email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Aggregate analytics data is retained for up to 24 months.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by emailing hello@makewash.com. We respond within 30 days. If you're a resident of California, the EU, or the UK, you have additional rights under the CCPA, GDPR, and UK GDPR respectively — contact us using the address above to exercise them.

Children's privacy

MakeWash is intended for adults running or starting a pressure washing business. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for newsletter subscribers, send a notification before the change takes effect.
